Denton Corker Marshall

The subject of an invited competition, the brief required a mixed development of 250 private residential units and 70 public housing units on a complex yet highly visible site in West London.

Our proposal consisted of a mid-rise element with a ribbon of development alongside the adjacent railway sheltering a garden area around which other residential blocks would be placed.

The materials chosen for this part of the scheme reflected the traditional London palette of yellow stock brickwork and dark tiled roofs.

At the southern end of the site we proposed a tall thin tower which would provide high end apartments and also act as a marker and landmark for the scheme.

The architectural expression of this element included a more contemporary palette of anodized aluminium panels and unitised glazing.
